My passion of food and my personal cooking style is greatly inspired by my Mum who was a chef for much of her life. In the start, her career consisted of many hours spent in male dominated kitchens, this lasted for many years before she decided to take a break to raise my brothers and I. After a few years out of the industry she returned, this time buying a health focused cafe called, Natural Living Cafe. Here is where she taught me basic fundamental cooking skills, although I'm sure she argue otherwise and say I would just come to the cafe to eat all the food (probably true). She taught me to not over complicate my cooking, to trust my taste buds and learn to improvise with each dish. In addition, my Dad too is a great cook, whether it be making his own chutney or spice mix he's both adventurous and multicultural with his cooking style. No surprise where I got my love of food from right!?
